Privacy

Short version: Selkie Hum doesn't collect anything, doesn't send anything anywhere, and doesn't keep anything. I'm one person making a plugin, not running a service, and there's nothing here I'd want to know about you.

What the plugin does with your microphone

Hum is an AUv3 plugin. It doesn't open the microphone itself; the Host you load it in (Loopy Pro, AUM, and so on) does, and hands the audio to Hum on the channel you put it on. Hum listens to that audio to work out which note you're singing, sends the note out as MIDI, and passes the audio on if you've set Voice Through above zero. It never records or stores audio. Once a buffer has been looked at, it's gone.

The small app that comes with the plugin, the one you see if you open Selkie Hum from your home screen, does ask for the microphone directly, because it lets you try the plugin without a Host. Same story: it listens, it plays a note, it keeps nothing.

Network

None. Neither the plugin nor the app makes any network request, ever. There's no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no update check. If it ever needs a network for something, this page will say so first.

What's stored

Your settings (Gate, Smoothing, Range and the rest) are saved by your Host as part of its project or preset, the way it saves every other plugin's. Hum doesn't keep its own copy anywhere.

Tracking and third parties

There's no tracking and no third-party code that talks to anyone. The App Store privacy label for Hum says "Data Not Collected", and that's the whole truth of it.

Children

Nothing about Hum is aimed at children in particular, and since it collects nothing, it collects nothing from them either.

Changes

If any of this changes, the date at the top changes and the change is described here.
